依り代
神霊が依り憑く（よりつく）対象となるもの。場合によっては、御神体や神域を表す。
日本の古神道における自然崇拝から発生した考え方で、特別に祀られる巨石や岩、大木には注連縄（しめなわ）が飾られる。

Object to which a spirit is drawn or summoned. Especially sacred trees are commonly used for making Buddha statue in Japan. The story drives Tetsu to make wooden series of abstract pictures and statues.
「天津金木」
天津とは、「神の」とか「神聖な」という意味。金木とは細い木の意だが、これ一体が大宇宙の縮図、一個の小宇宙を表している。
“Amatsu-Kanagi”
Amatsu means “divine” or “sacred”. Kanagi means a thin tree, but this one set represents a microcosm, a miniature of the macrocosm.
